Thank you! It's good to be back. She's not real pretty on the outside, but looks good underneath and boy does she leap off the ground and fly nice!

Correct, there is a 337 in the logbook if anyone is interested.

They were a common mod for whatever reason. First I saw/had used a 'Scientifico' flashing beacon assembly (wow! a red flasher on a tail)...that was superseded by various strobes and likely now LED's. They also made a larger fiberglass model to house a large rotating beacon. Bulb and convex lens focus unit that spun around internally. The fiberglass unit was very light in both versions, and simply pushed down over the vertical stabilizer or rudder tail post tubing and attached with small PK screws. A B+ wire was run up inside the post and a nearby ground connection provided. Never had one fall off or noted any vibration in the rudder. They should be weather sealed or at least drain holes for water provided.

Sometimes they can be seen at night, and maybe during winter sub-daylight. But now nothing beats bright LED's on the wingtips and tail even during the day. By the time you see them during the day it's not much help to see and avoid.
