I have a Field Approval for clear seaplane doors. Built from scratch with atypical fastening and top hinged. The factory hinges on the fuselage are removed. Too expensive a deal for maybe what you want.
If by Patroller doors do you mean the factory door with a lower clear insert? That's what most are on aircraft.

Here's some pics of my doors...dogs aren't mine. Another simpler option is to replace the metal or ??? covering on the lower factory door with clear Lexan or similar product. I have since added a lower latch to the doors...a left side inside window latch from Wag-Aero for a Citabria.

any deviation from factory you would need a field approval or stc...
I rarely fly with either of my doors all together and just have them on quick dissconnect pins
