Re: Ugh..
I've used Gleim for the last few years. It's ok, and I always learn something again..... But, I've also found a few errors in their information. There aren't any videos, but for the most part the questions and examples are good. I think it's worth the money.
I like to go to the seminars too, but it's really a bad time of year for me to try to get away as we're right in the middle of calving and foaling season, so that leaves my wife home here dealing with all that by herself. I do think it's good to put a face with the name when dealing with the Feds.
JohnI'm so far behind, I think I'm ahead

Re: Ugh..
The resistor in the spark plug is supposed to be less than 5K ohms. New plug is about 1K ohms. Measure from the center conductor to the internal contact on a clean plug.
It makes a difference in the performance of your plane. Sometimes you don't see the difference until the plugs are really bad, but when the resistance goes into the megaohms, the spark starts looking for other outlets.
Note that the latest Champion plugs are now encapsulating the resistor just like Tempest has been doing. Nice. It is rare to find a Tempest that won't meet the resistance spec.Best Regards,
Mark Julicher
