  • Univair Landing Gear feedback

I'm looking for feedback on the Univair landing gear for the BC's. I'd like to make sure fitment, quality and support are worth the $1685 each they are getting for them.

Let me know if you have purchased a set and if you are satisfied (other than the cost).

    Thanks.

Yes, I bought a new set. Very nice except for the price. I hat Atlee install straight axle, refueling step and brace for ski operations.

Good piece of mind knowing there are no cracks that are invisible to the eye. My plane was substantially damage in a wind storm after gear collapsed an the other wing got high in the wind an was torn off. Found cracks after the fact.

Jim: will Atlee Dodge not make as you require? Or don't they have the FAA-PMA approvals?

OK...good to hear. Thanks for the response Jim. I originally was going down the road of getting them ultrasonic NDT but figured I could apply that $ to the cost of a new set and be done with it.

No jig available and was told that it would be cost prohibitive as I would have to pay for the labor to build the jig...?

I am looking for a good right gear leg, cant see spending 1685 for a gear leg that costs less than 500 for a cub. tim

I wonder if PA-12 or 20 gear could be made to fit? Fuselage spacing may be different. Maybe 18 gear with T drag link attached?
