That may be Jim...the lean behavior. It would seem a change to a larger nozzle would be required along with the increase in displacement with the stroker kit. It's not part of the STC so I'll leave that to an expert.
I don't have enough experience yet to tell and without a 4-point EGT can't directly measure the A/F ratio via exhaust temp. When I can I'll play with the mixture control to see how quickly it passes from full rich into a lean condition. I'd normally expect some rpm increase at cruise altitude (3-5K') if it's a bit rich. So far my flying has been limited to under 3000' and I'm running it full rich for break-in. If anything the exhaust is a bit dark but that may be due to new engine oil consumption until the rings seat.
After winter flying with a Stromberg in my PA-11 I soon got a Marvel with an accelerator pump and donated the Stromberg to the dumpster.
