    Re: Going to Factory

You must remember that "Demonstrated cross wind limit" is a landing down the centreline, demonstrated to the FAA "on the day" by an approved test pilot without using adverse controls i.e. no cross-controls or "into-wind wing".
That is why a lot of taildraggers have an alarmingly small x-wind limit.

I missed out on how going to the factory & x-wind component got on the same thread
Forrest, the change of tack within a thread is called "thread hijack" and is very common.

I always have my tire pressure at 5 lbs. Is this OK? or should I take some more air out?

Robert - then how does the test pilot correct for drift without cross control? Crab, then kick out at the last possible moment? As you said - "alarming!". Not my first choice in a tail dragger!

      Forrest - care to comment?

        Re: Going to Factory

I must have missed something in test pilot school, we were shown to use "proper x-wind technique" be that crab and kick or wing low approach made no difference. The Piper Cherokee is the one that comes to mind that runs out of rudder real quick so we must approach and touch the upwind wheel at much higher than stall speed to maintain proper control.
5 lbs. ( must be joking around) you need about 18-23 unless you have a "Taylor-Cub"

Carl, I don't think he does (i.e. allowed to).

If on the day of the demonstration, the crosswind is 1 kt, then that is the demonstrated crosswind limit.
