  • Engine Baffling

I'm in the process of installing a re-built Cont. A65 which has Millennium cylinders. When I went to install the baffling (original style I believe) it would not fit. I can see now that the problem is the difference in the fins around the exhaust port. Has anybody had this problem and how did they solve it? Any suggestions would be appreciated before I start cutting things up and make things worst.

I can maybe get some tomorrow, its basically a Cessna 150 back piece and then I added some material to my existing baffling and then made a few new pieces....Tim

Chuck- Thanks for the photos. I can see from the second photo that the baffle has a jog in it on the right side where the exhaust fins are. That is one reason mine does not fit. The photo of the baffles don't show inter-cylinder baffles.... are you using them? Did you modify the baffles you received from Airforms?

              Jerry,
I don't think that AirForms makes baffles for A65. I bought theirs for my C85-12 and they fit perfectly without modification. They include inter-cylinder baffles.
I'm quite certain that Chuck also has a C85.

Yes my engine is a C85-12 and yes i do have inter cylinder baffles. No i did not modify them at all also i did away with the baffle under the engine and closed up the hole in the front of the nose bowl. it acts like a pressure cowl cools well cht's 315/320 oil temp 200 with the out side air temp 90 deg.
