  • Finally flying

After four years in the restoration process, I'm finally flying! Here's some photos of the finished product. I'm amazed how nice it handles on the ground and in the air. Amazing for something built in 1941. I couldn't be happier with it.

                John,

                Nice job.

Am (permanently) moving to Mesquite, Nevada next week. I'll have to stop by some time and take a closer look!

                      Re: Finally flying

Excellent!! Looks very nice. Your hard work has paid off.

Might I add a bit of opinion? I think a maroon accent stripe of about 1" width about 1.5" above the lower maroon would really set it off.

Stunning restoration! Beautiful work. Loving it.
Regarding an accent stripe- not disagreeing with anyone else's opinion but I believe the original factory finish did call for a black divider which I see faithfully duplicated here. Personally I would not change a thing. Hope I can even come close with my '41.
                          Nice work.

                            Re: Finally flying

The black stripe was original on the 41 Deluxe, as was the spelling of Deluxe.
