reusing/cleaning clips

I have several 5 gallon buckets of wire in the basement that over the years, when I want something mindless to do, I"ll work on removing the old reinforcement tape and whatever else is stuck on it. Is it worth the effort or should I just try to locate new wire? - Mike

Mike if it is still good it may be worthwhile. It is almost impossible to get the wire. The way i understand it they do not make the correct wire anymore.

If you are talking about Taylorcraft wing rib wire, SAVE IT!!!!! I do the same. Even shorter pieces may be useful one day. We REALLY need to make a machine to make it!

Mike if you keep them and use them, it will save you time in the long run. soak them in lacquer thinner and the tapes should come right off.

I would certainly keep all of it. I have been trying to get some all summer, those who have it will not part with what they have , and the wire advertised in the Aircraft Spruce cataloged is 1/8 of an inch to long in the spacing, they should stop advertising it. I would like some if you want to part with it.
