Good afternoon Tribe,
46 BC12D very low time 65 engine (150 hours +/-) has started popping when pulled to idle in flight (like descending on final). Totally stock, no aftermarket parts. She starts SOOOO super easy, runs like a top, fuel burn hasn't changed, exhaust residue is same, I scare the spiders away from the wings with decalin every fill up and everything seems fine. Just started doing this on the last few flights.
My first thought is an exhaust leak..? Only thing I thought after that is maybe just too rich at idle (idle circuit in these carbs?)..??
Location is Monterey area, on "normal" days, so were not talking high altitude or hot days...
I'll get some pics posted of the exhaust.
So if you see a T-Hog making a strafing run ... that's me
(just exaggerating - it's not that bad)
but I'd rather people pointing at my flawless slip to landing and not my airplane farting all the way down final.
Thanks Ladies, Lad's and Gent's
