I installed an AK 451-2 in my 172 a couple of years ago and although I have not connected it, I'm reasonably sure it will accept GPS data and transmit position information. Is this what is meant by "GPS capable?"

Most dont accept the GPS data, those units cost a couple of grand and the GPS needs to be certified. Not like we have 430's in our aircraft...Tim
