  • Horizontal stabilizer

Whoever asked me if the horizontal stablizer I have as an extra is a three hinge type, yes it is. It is covered, how long the covering has been on I don't know.

    Re: Horizontal sabilizer

I didn't ask, but I may need one. Is yours for sale?

I recently purchased a 46 BC12D and the left elevator has almost no space between the horizontal stabilizer and the elevetor such that the fabric rubs when the elevator moves. The right side has plenty of space. I am not sure if the elevator sustained some hangar damage or if the horizontal stabilizer is malformed. I am waiting on my A&P to tell me.

PS: Does anyone know of an A&P in Virginia or Maryland that can recover and paint a BC12D (and fix curosion if it exists)?

      Re: Horizontal sabilizer

The A&P in the hangar across from me has a paint booth we built and is starting up a business recovering planes. We are in Virginia Beach/Cheaspeake VA at Hampton Roads Executive (PVG). No idea about prices but I am just finishing up repainting my 41 (got to use the booth on my plane in return for designing and helping to build the booth) and Bob is getting ready to start on a Ridge Runner homebuilt. Says he has several planes already lined up.

        Hank,

Can you contact me offline and give me your hangar mate Bob's phone number? I would like to call him and see if he will be able to work during the winter months.

        Thanks,
        Greg

            Hank,
I will take a digital photo of the stabilizer this afternoon, and load it up on the site at that time.

              Hank, et al,

This board has a Private Messaging system, so email addresses are not required.

Simply click on the name of the person who posted the message, and go to "Private Message".

Also, if the dot to right of the name is green, they are on-line.

Didn't know the private message system could be used that way. NEAT!

                    Mike,

I guess you were addressing your response to me (Greg). I am sorry, but I will be out of town today, visiting relatives. Thanks for the invitation anyway!

Hope your plan's recovery from the ground loop goes well.

                    Regards,
                    Greg
