        Spread sheet attached.

        Key;
Column A - quantity of the part the is needed
Column B - part number if available
Column C - description of part and the id. of the member that reported it
Column D - Does Wag Aero supply it?
Column E - does Univair supply it?
Column F - can you get it at some other place?
Column G - 1 if this line number indicates a part number, 0 if not
Column H - 1 if anyone supplies this part number, 0 if not

line 141 has columns totals for use in analysis

oops, the software will not let me up load a .xls file so I converted it to a .pdf

Rob I can retry if you have any ideas how to do it.

        Dave

I've added the spreadsheet as an xls file. Rob

          Re: News from the Factory?

Wow, I had forgotten about that list. Just a quick look shows it needs to be updated but looks like a good starting point. I have a BUNCH of the old factory catalogs from the pre-war and immediate post war periods (actually up through the F-19).
I agree that the demand is so low it will be hard to get anyone to manufacture the more obscure parts. No one is going to set up to make four 41 instrument panels, and I don't know if we could sell four! That is where the Tribe really shines. When someone needs a part bad enough to actually set up to make one (like I did for the 41 panels) we go out to the group and look for help. When I did mine I talked to the Bakers who had a buck for the panel, but it had a panel pretty much "glued" to it! I used that as a pattern to make a new buck and made a set of panels, two of which were good enough to actually go in a plane. One I sent to them, and the other is in my plane. It was a shame that more people at the time didn't want one. When I was making them the time required was dropping VERY fast by the time I made mine. The first one took over a month if I remember correctly and was so bad I threw it away. By the fourth one I had two acceptable ones and the last one took about 3 or 4 days. The next ones could have gotten that down to a day apiece. Before someone asks, NO I do NOT want to start that learning curve again, but I am pretty sure someone has the buck for anyone who wants to try it. (By the way, who did I send it to?)

There ARE things happening in the background on trying to get Taylorcraft supported properly, but I for one have NOT been contacted. I certainly did NOT do the bungee project alone! Chuck and Shannon did a HUGE part of the work and it was a team effort. We have some other "irons in the fire" and will let all know when we have something solid to tell. A big part that Chuck, Shannon and I agree on is this stuff needs to be for the benefit of Taylorcraft owners, NOT for a few people to profit from the rest of us. There just isn't enough money in these old planes for someone to make a living off of them.

They say Socialism is the most perfect form of government, the only problem is there are no perfect people to live in it. Our little experiment here will see if we are at least close to perfect in our love for Taylorcrafts. Be patient, more good things like the bungee project are in the works.

          Hank

              You're gonna laugh.

I know how to zip and gzip in unix and aix.

I do not know how to do that on laptop running windows.

                  Re: News from the Factory?

I am still here Tues, Wed & Thurs afternoons just like it says on the membership letter.... 1 to 4 PM .... I will try to attach a letter. YES the reps are still appointed and there ; NO ONE came to the last fly in for the Annual meeting . The local troops ran the show; I had quite a change in my life style. New thread will reveal a lot. I still maintain a lot of technical data and share ONLY with Foundation members since the last attempt at a lawsuit ; this is proprietary information shared only with members ; IF you did not get a number or a card for cripes sakes CALL me at those hours any week use 330 823-1168 OR 330 495 5447 any time; WE have three Taylorcraft restoration projects going here now. At the 2013, 2012, 2011 Fly ins it was decided at the Annual meeting in the Evening that we would have no more fly ins at Alliance; THEN the locals; Bixlers, Whitakers, Newells, Matz and even the Barbers would change that decision each year by Nov and the fly ins continue and will continue as long as possible . Patty has Alzheimer's and we have not seen each other since May , 2013 ; MY LIFE is a turmoil , I am recovering down 32 lbs , planned, and continuing with life

                    Re: News from the Factory?

Seems like the correct number at the factory is 956-554-9166 as I gave in my earlier Post. Forrest has made contact with Jessica so I suggest we give it a week or so to see how things develop. It would appear that Jessica's boss is Juan ( I seem to recall having received emails from him shortly after the new owners took over the factory ) Forrest says he was connected with Harry in the past so no doubt knows his way around the Taylorcraft spares situation!

As they say in the UK onwards and upwards!

I received a response back from Jessica at Taylorcraft. Not thinking English is her first language.

                      Hello Martin,

On behalf of everyone involved to get Taylorcraft off the ground again, thank you for contacting us back. If you need anything or just keep us in contact, please feel free to. I’m very happy you replied. This has been a fun week learning about new things and learning about Taylorcraft enthusiast.

                      Keep in touch,

                      Jessica Aldape

                          Re: News from the Factory?

Jessica emailed me today and said she was busy sorting out some orders! She said she would send me an order form. She seems very keen to get things up and running properly!

I think we should get the spread sheet containing the "wish list " to her asap before she gets way laid with setting everything up?

From the content of the email it would appear that there may be a fair amount of stock there but can't be sure without asking her directly or better still someone callsl round there, if anyone lives local? Just a thought but may not be viable due to distances in your country!

I'm not 100% on this but the last time the factory was selling parts they had not been approved to do so. Perhaps the 'new' factory got all its paperwork in order before making the e-mail announcement. Use caution before sending any money.
                            Cheers,
