      TC747paul,
Open up this link...it doesn't answer your question in full, but it will make things clearer in your head, if and when you talk to the guys at Atlee-Dodge. The quality of the
drawings leave something to be desired, but you will be able to glean some info I'm sure. Dick

I see your from Illinois. Be careful of where you land with skis in Illinois. There is a state statute that says you can only land on a surface approved as an airport, or something like that.

            Re: Federal 1500 Install

If you're in the Belvidere area, I have a set of 1500's in my hangar ready to put on in the next week or so. Just yesterday, I moved them from the house to the hangar (Harvard-Dacy, 0C0) and I'm gone for a while now so can't measure the length of the cables.

I couldn't open Dick's PDF attachment for some reason, but I attached a scan I made of the original drawing I received when I got the skis last year ( thanks again Carl!) Sorry if it's the same as what Dick provided...

By the way, Dave Dacy at his shop on the airport (Dacy) is another source you might consider for getting the skis fitted. He's the one that replaced all the cables and bungees on my skis last season. You'll have a great time with the skis, if we get and keep enough snow for a while. Tom mentioned not using off-airport landing sites here in IL, and there are at least a couple of nice landing spots just north of the state-line that I used last year.

Edit: I went directly to the Taylorcraft.org site and downloaded the drawings. Same, but with an extra sheet with more details.

Thanks mike. I am at poplar grove and a couple of neighbors mentioned Dacy also.
I will look him up. Is Dacy open for ski flying ?

Paul, I stopped by Dacy yesterday and it looks like ski flying should be good. Dave plows the north/south runway. The east/west and NW/SE are left free.

If I were still around I would be out there too, sounds like a few more inches of snow expected tonight. Hope you enjoy it, maybe we can meet up next month. Lake Lawn and Lake Koshkonong on the WI side are good when solid. Look for the main snow machine trails and fishing shacks where people drive on the ice.

I saw quite a few ski plane out. Looks like a lot of fun!!!

Anyone got info on where to get over center dolly wheels for federal 1500 skis? Skis are on the plane, now I need to get from the hanger to the snow.
