    I believe the proposal stated an. A/P would still have to annual the plane each year. That A/P would see any mods on the plane that was not safe. I for one would love to see this come about. My struts would not be pulled every 4 years, maybe every 8 years. Let's face it,a Taylorcraft is not that complicated airplane.

      This is my concern as well. As I understand it, there would be a lot of room for what you install in the aircraft. I think these old gals are just perfect the way they are and don't need a dynon or other fancy electronics in them. As far as owner maintenance, most owners that I have dealt with are smart enough to know what they dont understand and shouldn't be doing. I've done 5 owner assisted annuals this year, all but 1 knew their own limits, or at least in front of me. Only a few things that needed redone, and we all learned a bit in the process

        I take it you have never had an airplane that someone (unscrupulous mechanic) unscrewed a prop from the wall (through the wood of the hub) and the owner was oblivious that it was a problem. Or another owner that has his ELT zip tied into the baggage compartment. Or the owner who duct taped up several holes and then said its too expensive to patch the holes in 5 year old fabric. Or the owner who put a ford electric window motor in to turn the trim handle (nice but not even close to legal) Trust is hard to earn when MY license is on the line. Tim
