Re: Landing distance measured in time?

No, a SWAG is MUCH more accurate than a WAG.......because it is said with so much authority.

My favorite is the TLAR method of measurement. It allows you to drill a hole through a tube and hit the EXACT center every time.

I need that! I want to drill a .177 -.001" hole through a 1/4" dia. rod 28" long. It must be straight because I want to neck own a 30-06 brass cart. to fire a .177 pellet. I'm afraid that if the hole would be curved, the bullet would curve around and hit me in the back of the head.
Like if you put a prop on backwards the t-craft would fly backwards.

I need to change oil so I can fly.

Re: Landing distance measured in time?

You guys almost made me spit my coffee out - LOL funny!!
...so back to my previous discussion...
I can say with certainty that every place I have ever landed I did NOT step it off prior to landing or taking off (but I do not discount it's usefulness, I just haven't been in that situation yet). What I would step off would be my RP's to get BY objects (namely rows over from telephone poles with my last flying gig) that's where I've found good use of pacing distances. You guys do bring up another thought... At any point have you ever aborted a landing or chose not to land because the strip was too narrow?

Does removing tree limbs from the wings count? Landed on a few jeep trails in the mountains of Alaska, makes for interesting times...Tim

I think as long as it wasn't the other way around it's a success!!
