Bulk order of Bungees, put your order in here (was: Bungee Question)
I was thinking of setting it up for every five years. The Piper guys say there is something somewhere that says that was how often they were supposed to be changed, but I could never find a time limit. I don't know of anyone who changes them that often, but if we can get them for ~$15 each, I would! One photo of a plane with a failed safety cable and broken bungees would keep me doing it.

Chuck and I are on the phone right now. Looks like we have some overlap on our lists. To get the price break they have to be 50 cords of the same part number ( the set up change is what adds to the cost).
If you have a post war BC12-D the standard is 4 9010 HD cords
A pre-war BC-12-65 normally uses 4 9090 cords
An F-19 or 21 uses 9010HDX cords.
I have heard that using the 9010 HDs in place of the 9090s just makes the gear a little stiffer. Does anyone have actual experience? From the tension numbers I don't think there is any way you would want to switch between F-19/21 and the older BC/BL/BF planes. The later ones are twice the tension strength. Between pre and post war is only 25#.
If we all can use 9010 HDs we would still need a couple more people to get the price break for 50 (there is a 20 bungee break we already past).
How about each of us post which year/model we have and which bungee type you want so we can lock down what we will buy?
Could you ship a set ( 4 ) 0f 1110 by 11/16ths by 10 inches around, Superior Bungees for my F22A (Nose wheel ) to the UK? I can't seem to get any in the UK only Auster wobler ones! The last time I needed any SBC Industries over there supplied the ones I have listed and they have worked great! I can pay by PayPal. I am used to suffering the financial pain of Postage from the USA so that dosn't bother me. More important to get the correct ones from a known source as opposed to something intended for an Auster!
Bob,
Chuck is actually friends with him and was going to hand pick up the group buy. The SBC list doesn't even include F-22 bungees, but since he has the tooling to make them I am sure he should be able to make them up. His web site is at http://www.sbcindustries.com/products.htm and from what I understand he makes them to order from fresh material stocks. I am afraid it could take a while to get enough people for a price break for the F-22 and you will probably have to do a single order but I am sure we can make arrangements to get them paid for and shipped to you in GB. If nothing else I can mail them from here to you (maybe trade for English car parts....;-) ). We will have to find out what a run of 4 bungees will cost.

Bob i will call David tomorrow and get some information on the 1110 rings and see if he has some in stock if so will help get them to the UK . Will post what i find out tomorrow.
I have a '41 BC12-65 Deluxe and think that I need 4) 9090's. If it is determined that the 9010HD's will work and it will help meet the min. order, I am good with using them.
Louie,
I am in the same place. My 41 shows I am supposed to use the 9090s but I would like to hear from someone with a pre-war who has used the 9010HDs. If it isn't a good idea I guess we will just need to order ours alone and pay the difference.
