Re: Financial support for this forum.

I hope everyone is aware that this forum and the Taylorcraft Foundation are separate entities. The dues you may pay to the Foundation in no way support this forum. Bob Ollerton is responsible for the forum and we should be sure to support his efforts. There was a thread called "Forrest Life and the Taylorcraft Foundation," started on 01-02-2014, seven pages long, that pretty much lays things out including the legitimacy of the foundation.

Bernard, you should wait for Bob Ollerton to respond to my request for his current address.

Take a read on Garry's post above also.

Re: Financial support for this forum.

You all are very kind to offer some help with the cost of hosting this forum. When it started out, Ted and I had easy access to a lot of technology and hosting space for next to nothing. As our lives and careers have changed the free stuff has become impossible to find.

Ted has some plans to switch out the way the forum is hosted to reduce costs, but its still a paid for service. Your help is really appreciated. I'll use some to pay the
annual maint. on the VB software and pass the rest to Ted to pay for the hosting.

I'm hoping someone would like to step up and take on supporting the taylorcraft.org web page in 2017. Rob Lees has done a great job with it in the past and we owe him a lot of thanks.

You send mail to me at

Like many of the tribe, I've benefitted from all the expertise on this forum and hope it continues as long as the marque continues to fly. I was also a regular member of the Taylorcraft Foundation and Taylorcraft Owner's Club, allowing my Foundation dues to lapse for the same reasons others did. While aware of friction between some members and the Foundation/Forrest, I didn't stay up to date on their skirmishes until reading the early 2014 7-page thread, as suggested. And regrettably hadn't noticed that the forum and the Foundation aren't co-entities, especially with regard to operating funds. I shall remedy that oversight with donation to the forum and, like others, welcome the return of the Foundation when its issues are resolved. If Hank is listening, is that resolution still brewing?

Re: Financial support for this forum.

I wish it was but the fire is pretty cool, not cold, but not actively brewing. I am open to ideas on how to get the foundation up and running as an active support system for our planes and owners. As many here know I have been trying to buy some property in North Carolina for a residential air park and a major part of our plan was to try and establish a permanent new home for the foundation. This plan is NO WAY is intended to take away from Forrest. I have always hoped he would move to warmer climes and remain to help us with his considerable knowledge and history (while preserving his back side from frost bite in Ohio!) A combination of the Foundation in a permanent, accessible home, people dedicated to Taylorcraft and documents with Forrest (and some HELP for him with all the demands we make) would be a great goal.

There are a couple of sites under consideration, but we are about a year behind schedule right now. We have the County in NC, the local leaders, EPA and Corps of Engineers on board. Just need to get the land in our hands.

                Hank
