  • Fly In October 1st Morehead,Ky(M97)

The great folks at the Clyde Thomas Reg airport in Morehead,ky(M97) are hosting an open house October 1, 2011. There will be breakfast starting at 7am to ??, consessions for lunch & snacks throughout the day, several static displays, demostrations but a host of different events, and I really can't remember what all is going to happen but it should be a pretty good turn out. There will be food, airplanes, food, pilots, food, people, more food, activities for all, and did I mention thier will be FOOD? What more could ya ask for, lol?

I went out with a lass from Morehead Ky in 1986. We went boating on the local lake & took a trip to Nashville. Nice lass. It didn't last.

The Taylorcraft Tribe is really a clan in disguise.

Never give trouble to a man in a dress, if he be a Scot, he will have a knife (or several)

Hey you guys you haven't got a clue. I was raised in Ireland and I can tell you, you haven't understood a language until you have delt with some of my kin from home. They speak in the old tongue and although I grew up with it I've been here 30 years now, and can tell you never forget the rythym of the language. Try this Nil ga gweech, mabvorneen.

and if you don't like that pog mo hein.

                  Enjoy

So where did you learn Gaelic Hank? I learned from both my ma and my da Haven't spoke much since I have no one here to speak with. People always ask me to translate but as you know some of the words have no actual English translation just a close variation. It is nice to know the old language isn't completely gone from this gerneration. I was trying to get a rise out of Robert Lees to see if I could ruffle his feathers since he was speaking the old broken Scott / English.

By the way I stopped being cute at age 4. Talk to you later Shannon

Can't speak it, kind of understand some (much LESS than almost any other language I know) There just isn't much engineering done in Gaelic. ;-) My mother doesn't know any, I just play with translation. What threw me was I have NO IDEA what gweech or mabvorneen mean. Now "pog mo hein" I am more familiar with than can be discussed in polite company (I am quite sure you are NOT cute enough!). Like I said, most of my ancestors were illiterate when they got here.
You want an example of broken Scott/English, our name was Garrard and ended up written here as Jerratt and Jarrett! Garrard is actually a good English name based on the pike carrying soldiers but my family seems to have moved to Scotland, then Ireland followed by here. Something about missing horses. Robert, your family wasn't missing any were they?
                            Hank

Ef eh'll beats y'ta hell ur whisky be on me so long as it be goot Highlands Scotch not that lowlands dirt water. Abalour Highlands Single Malt ur me name's not.....Och, ye got me pleats in a rustle. Din know if me names Jerratt or Jarrett or Garrard!

Impossible to get me skivvies in a bunch. N ye knows why! ;-)

Don't feel bad in the old days my name was actually spelled O Gallabhar. My mothers family originated in Ayershire Scotland there last name was Loghan

The one phrase is basically translated to You don't need to know, Darlin
