I'm looking for an old style oil temp gauge for my L2. It is the front mounted type with the little ears at 3 and 9 o'clock for the mounting screws and the face is white with black lettering. Thanks.

Re: Oil temo gauge wanted
Bob,
Though I have actually seen one in real life in the dash of a BC-12D, and myself have been looking for one for a long time, they are fairly rare. The gauge you are looking for was made by U.S. Gauge. I found a pressure gauge but have never been able to find a temp gauge. I wish you luck!Cheers,

Re: Oil temo gauge wanted
This is the one you are looking for. Good luck. They are bulb oil temp gauges and the long tube is filled with a gas that expands to move the needle. If the tube cracks, you get the sickening "SSSss" sound of the gas escaping. You are in for a royal pain removing the gauge and an expensive repair.
If anyone has one that is not working, for goodness sake DO NOT THROW IT OUT! They CAN be repaired, but the core value is pretty low and the repair expensive. When it's all you got, it's all you got! I stored mine with the bulb and tube in a long piece of PVC tube to protect it. DON'T BEND THE TUBE ANY MORE THAN YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO!
Hank
When I got the one in the picture with the tube bent like that I almost cried!
Also, CHECK THE THREADED PIECE OF THE BULB against the back of the engine case. There are TWO TYPES and if you don't have the right adapter you will either break the line or have an oil leak!
