I am trying to come up with a nice looking fix for the fuel valve AD, Does anyone have something for sale , also looking for cowl fasterners maybe Boeing, Keith NC 29508

Dick If these are the ones that have a blade and little spring and to lock turn 1/4 turn I would love to have 4 of them. What would be price with S/H and will send check or MO Thanks on the fuel valve thing I thought it was an AD but maybe not will look that up, but it was a safety feature that is supposed to take two hands to op[erate so as not to inadvertenly shut fuel off Keith

Keith,

What you are talking about is the fuel valve knob. A lot of times the fuel knob and carb heat knob are mounted right next to each other. They are actually farther apart if you look at the instrument panel layouts from Taylorcraft but during restorations some people put them right next to each other. The fuel 'safety' is a device, (and I have seen several variations), to physically block you from accidentally pulling the fuel off rather than pulling the carb heat on. If you search on this forum for it you will see some variations.

Keith, the Boeing fasteners have a mushroom profile. They come throught a slot in the cowling and then turn 90 degrees. They were used on the open cowl airplanes. With your "N" number it could be either open or closed.
Does your airplane have the throttle plate with throttle, primer, lights, ignition, and fuel shut off? If so When I had my BL I made one that connected to the plate at the ignition or light position and rotated down to cover the shut off knob. Tom
