yup. I like the Shinns. If someone wants the C-140 brakes ,gear, rudderpedals, arms ,,,the whole ball of wax in exchange for my set up plus $200 cash and shipping I could be convinced to swap I suppose. The set up as installed is really nice however. I will up load some pics.

I do still wonder though with the stroker kit if the Shinns will hold her back. The strokers do produce a little more HP than the C-90 (marginal)

      hmmm

Thanks Buell, was referencing the WACOs being built in Troy Ohio in my last post. We are trying to promote all aircraft manufactured in Ohio at the Barber Field Grassroots fly-in. Aeronca get a good number in. Will make its way into the show.

I found tiny bits of original paint in the corners and crevices and Jim and Dondi mixed my dope to match for the repaint. I have the original panel back as well as the 4 piece windshield.
I would be interested in ANY pictures or your dads plane! I go over every original photo I can find with a magnifying glass to gather little details. Mine was actually used during the war by the CAP to look for U-Boats so if you have any pictures with the CAP markings you would make my day!

Mine actually left the factory in OD paint with the cream and maroon interior in it. Still had the original fabric on it when we got the project and no one ever repainted the belly after it left the war and stop flying in 52

PLEASE tell me you photographed it before you tore the fabric off!
I would LOVE to see how the markings were done on one that actually entered service straight from the factory. Mine was "appropriated" by the government from what I can tell.

Fabric was in tatters. No markings were visible since the sides and top was painted, only the bottom was left OD green. I have a picture somewhere, taken long before I had a digital camera or computer.

I'd like to see photo's of the markings also. I don't know about airplanes, but Indian military motorcycles were painted one of the many shades of OD at the point of origin, but were repainted by the military. The motorcycles which were to remain in the states were painted a slightly glossy light OD, while those going overseas were painted a dark matt OD. I"m not sure when the markings were painted on except that I have read many times that they were painted when they were uncrated at their destination. I think that most of the planes as well as the motorcycles (jeeps also) were crated unassembled for shipment overseas. I am restoring a 1941 Indian 741 military and as yet have not been able to find the markings for an Ohio unit. I'll bet it would be a bear trying to find the markings for a T-Craft in an Ohio unit.
