Does anyone have an Imperial valve like this one for sale? I need another for the Left wing tank set-up. Thanx.

Re: Wtb: Imperial valve
Mike I got one, but need to check it and make sure it is in good shape. Exact same in pic.
Actually I have 6-8 wing tank valves and about 6 header tank valves, but several are froze and need cleaned up. All are old Imperial, but not all quite the same style. Price is $40 each shipped AFTER they have been inspected.

Mike (Ragwing)
Do you have one of the ones with the pin brazed on the lever for the main tank? I am trying to get acceptance for a stainless ball valve since I can't find an original one. It would really simplify everything with the FED REP if I just put an original one back in. When I pulled the tank it had what looked like a cheap plumbing valve on it and it was frozen in place. What REALLY scared me was the fuel line was GLUED into the fitting with Epoxy! MAN! I HATE finding C**P like that!
If you have one but can't get it to stop leaking, I am betting I can.
Amazing what you can do on lapped surfaces with select plating.

It's nice to have people with "special" skills for friends. ANYTHING can be repaired if you have access to the right tools and people.

Re: Wtb: Imperial valve
I brought this subject up with my IA last night. He would hear nothing of "hardware" type valves and pointed to the Imperial in my hand....hence the reason I posted for a duplicate. The Imperial is at least 3X heavier than the ball valve I wanted to put in. With one for each tank, I may have to fly without shoes to break even on weight.MIKE CUSHWAY

Re: Wtb: Imperial valve
I don't think I want to do that. The A&P I'm working with (haven't run the new valves past the IA) has always failed on the side of safety. I don't want to shop for an A&P who will let me get away with things. If I can't convince him with a proper argument, I will do it his way and use an original valve.
Everybody I have worked with has shown that their concern for my safety came first. It that means I have to do it a way that is harder than it needs to be a few times, I will live with it.
Hank
Now if he wants me to do something LESS safe than I want to, that' a different story! So far I usually get eye rolls for wanting to do things a HARDER way than they think is necessary.
