  • Trade bungee covers for B12-928 trim indicator placard

I'll trade a set of brand-new factory-made bungee covers for an original p/n B12-928, the adhesive sticker placard "NOSE UP/DOWN" for the trim indicator plate.

Or if someone with this placard doesn't need bungee covers, I'd trade a new p/n B-716 heel scuff plate for the floorboard. (The factory kindly threw an extra one in for free with my recent parts order -- would you believe it?)

Joel, it should have been printed. You could have a sign shop make you a paint mask and paint it. The letters are kind of small, but it can be done. Tom

The trim indicator in my 45 was a VERY thin brass plate with the markings embossed on it. It has an adhesive back and was stuck to the aluminum support. There were a LOT of pre-war parts on my 45 so I would suspect it was a left over part from before the war.

As a last resort I can look at my 41. It has one but I have not seen it for a year so I do not remember what I have, it was in decent shape though; as I remember. Larry

The indicator is long gone from my 41. The screw holes were still in the wood when I put the headliner in and I thought about making a replica of the 45 but wasn't sure if the prewar indicator was the same. If you get a picture of your 41 indicator I would like to see it. If it's the same as the 45 I will make one for the 41. Like I said before, it isn't a very complex set of parts and would be pretty easy to make.

Re: Trade bungee covers for B12-928 trim indicator placard

Thanks for the help and offers, guys. Someone is very kindly sending me a homemade replica placard, black print on adhesive foil.

Eric, I'll PM you about the bungee covers.

There's a good diagram of the trim indicator apparatus in one of the older factory price lists (see attached -- sorry it's scanned sideways), and the current factory in Texas still has some of these NOS parts in stock. I just got a new indicator plate and pointer bracket assembly from them. http://www.taylorcraft.com/zencart/i...6e4re9kg2dl2d7

Is the pre-war trim indicator mechanism different? Some of the 1941 drawings on the L-2 CDs look quite different:
