  • Seeking original red plastic throttle knob

Still obsessed with making my restoration even more authentic, so I'm looking for an original red plastic doorknob-sized throttle knob. I'll trade you a brand new black plastic throttle knob, laser engraved with the appropriate "throttle push to open", plus cash.

Please PM me or email directly to [email protected].

    Thanks,

When you've amended your glove-box door handle manufacturing business into making Throttle knobs, Joel, I'll have half a dozen, and can you then do the yoke hubs that Hank J won't get round to doing?

I'll have a dozen of those in red.

      Rob,

Aircraft Spruce sell new black plastic throttle knobs, 2 inch diameter, 1/4-28 internal threads, for only US$4.15. (That's practically free for you, given the exchange rate.) Aircraft Spruce part number 05-29100. That's what I'm using now, and I paid a local trophy shop $23 to laser engrave the wording on it. Someone less of a purist would just spray-paint that red, but I'm wanting an original red plastic knob. It's a sickness.

Afraid my rubber mold for glovebox handles is wearing out -- the last set I made for someone took a lot of plastic model putty and sanding because of nicks in the mold.

Can't you buy any of the red plastic hubs for the pretzel-style wheels from Ercoupe sources?

OK, Knowing I would NEVER get around to making the glove box handles, throttle knobs or Pretzel wheel covers, who the heck did I send the molds to? Somebody in the tribe has them but I need to dig through my papers and find out who. Any casting going on out there?
        Hank

NO, I DON'T want the molds back, just make some parts and sell ME some too (busted my glove box handle on the 41 and now I need 3 more too (need a set for the 45 you know)
