That would be a 65 Lycoming prop. He needs a 70-42.

if he wants 75 hp, 70-38 and it is the Lyc prop too. we did the tests. He can use the other one but it is a bit big in pitch.

Now I am a wee bit worried about the 71/49 Metal Mac on the Baby Ace !

Thats right 49. It is a lot lighter than a Taylorcraft at 575 empty. I ll keep my fingers crossed

The "HP" is based upon the RPM, try static first then full throttle in flight corrected for temp, & altitude. All tests are based upon 59 degrees F & sea level. correct to that for comparision. Is this Ernies Baby Ace? What engine and has it flown?

              Re: Prop Needed

Forrest, Thank you .Yes it is Ernies. It is back with the A-65 ( 0 SMOH )

Just working on the exhaust stacks and then will put the wings back on and test run it. The Airworthyness needs to be made perminant as he built it back in the time when one renewed it each year with the FAA.

Will send pictures and hope to bring it up to Alliance this summer. It turned out reel purty with Aerothane Tennassee red base and Diana cream trim

Ernie had a 72/48 Mac on her. Somehow it got seperated from the plane and engine (probably freezing there in Ohios frozen tundra somewhere) will see what the 71/49 does. I was told this prop had been on a CUB for many years and did well. soo.....

              All the Best.
