I have the original struts, '41. I bead blasted them 2 summers ago and painted with Aquapon white epoxy. How much do you want to spend or what do you have to trade???

          Eric,
I would like to do the same on my 41 (or at least keep my original ones for when the strut insanity ends). What dimensions are yours and I will look in the barn at my extra stuff. I don't remember the size of the 45 struts (my long term storage plane for a "someday restoration", there, their condition or how many I have but there may be one you could use or repair.

Thanks Hank! The rear measures about 1.8" wide & the front about 3.15".

The ones on my 41 are 3.125" x 1.21" and the rears are 1.785" x 1". I would REALLY like to "repair" them to bring them into conformance with the "sealed" struts to eliminate further inspections. Wonder if we could develop an STC to do that? They would need to be near perfect to get the feds to look at them before sealing, but I don't see why it couldn't be done. I will probably have to buy a new set to use on the 41 and will use them for the 45 when I figure out how to keep the 41 original (as possible).
I will check the barn next time I'm out for what kind of struts I have and their condition with the 45.
