  • Shinn/Firestone brake shoe return springs

    Would anybody know where I can get brake shoe return springs for Shinn/Firestone brake assy on my 1947 BC12-D with tapered axle? All help is appreciated!

      I think there are some in a box given to me by a past member. They are at the airport and I would need to check the part numbers. Might take a while. Are you restoring or repairing?

          there alot stiffer than you think. I'm surprised you found a spring similar enough to work

            When you get your spring made let's get together and do a test to find the spring coefficient. That will make sure your spring is stiff enough. I can compare to a NOS spring to make sure yours is safe. Easy test for no cost that could prevent a brake failure.
