You can refer to the prop flange issue found during the annual in the technical section. Sadly no mechanic prior to me maintaining the plane BOTHERED to really check the prop by removing it and removing the flange, a friggin 1/2 hr job on every annual, probably because someone messed up putting in that ring and every mechanic after just pencil whipped the act...
But long story short I am not investing 12-15k for an overhaul as the exposed crankshaft piece is most likely corrosion damaged and removing the flange almost welded to it will mean damaging the said crankshaft. I have another plane and I got this one ironically while the other was in a long overhaul and obtained my tailwheel endorsement through it too.
It will have an annual but with discrepancies to be addressed for it to make it airworthy and a few months ago addressed the AD for the struts by having the x-rays. The discrepancies will be:
1) Needs new control cables
2) Needs a new prop and whatever is needed to get that flange out
3) Wheel pants have cracks but can be flown without
The logbooks are complete for that matter. If I don't get a reasonable offer I will just part it out and sell all the pieces out i.e engine, struts, wings etc...
