I'm so impressed with the responses I've gotten to my post that I went ahead and signed up for a Taylorcraft org membership. This group is a necessary resource for anyone working on or flying these planes, and I hope to contribute in some way. Thanks everyone for helping me out.

It would probably be a great help to all if someone would video the process. I have done it a few times but am afraid any video I did would have to be listed as comedy. I have trouble with taking still photos! Glad to do the bungee change with someone anywhere close if they could take the movie.

Last guy that made a video demonstrated a method of using the tool that did not comply with the written process describe in the instruction sheet and was unsafe.

He was not trying to be contrary or innovative.

I mentioned it to him and he took down the video.

Turns out he had not carefully read the instructions.

I cannot and will not endorse a video due to the prior experience and the desire not to be held liable.

Dave, can you actually be held legally responsible for a third party video showing your tool being used? I'm not a lawyer but that seem off the charts unfair to you! Of course with the legal system as it is now I guess anyone could sue for anything. The good lawyers are being outnumbered by the bad ones!

Cost of defending yourself is the issue so I try to make it clear up front what my status is, that's all.
