  • Wanted, McCauley 7443 propeller

I’m looking for a serviceable climb prop to use on my f-19, if anyone has one kicking around please give me a call, 802-363-5383. Adam. Thanks

    Re: Wanted, McCauley 7443 propeller

The 7442 is the "standard" prop for a 65hp BC12D. McCauley only make them in batches, so they end up being quite rare and then all of a sudden, there's a dozen available. If you could get one of those, you could have it tweaked the extra inch in pitch. A good prop shop doesn't even damage the paint; I've seen it done.

Actually they are manufactured by Sensenich in Pennsylvania, but don't tell anyone.

If I could find a 7442 I’d be happy. I bought a used 7441 to try. turns out that it’s bent and can’t be repaired. The fellow I purchased it from didn’t know and is going to return my money.

        Re: Wanted, McCauley 7443 propeller

FWIW Adam here's Per TCDS 1A9 for F-19:

        Propellers and Propeller Acessories
        5. Propeller (with Continental O-200-A engine) - McCauley 1B90/CM7443, fixed pitch metal with the following limitations: Diameter - not over 74 ins., not under 71 ins. Static rpm at the maximum permissible throttle setting, not over 2400, not under 2300. No additional tolerance permitted. 20.9 lb. (-50)

Might make sure it meets this or is interchangeable per McCauley.

Below is McCauley's TCDS P-842 noting approvals for the O-200-A and interchangeable blades (see Notes 6, 9, and 10).

They run $3975 new, give or take a few hundred depending on who you get one from. Tim

Might look at the 1A105 props they are good for the C series and might fit the bill for you.

My issue of the TCDS has the 1A105 as item 4. But it could be a typo.

Adam has an 1A105 (or whatever the F-19 came with) now. Items 4 or 5 are approved. He's looking for a longer prop I believe...Item 5 in Post #4 above.

                    Re: Wanted, McCauley 7443 propeller

Thanks for the help guys, I’m sure something will eventually pop up but for now I’ll keep running the 69”. I’d hate to buy a new one for 4K and find out that it didn’t do much for performance. 4,000$ is a lot of avgas, I was hoping to find something in the $1-2k range. I’ve also got a post on the SuperCub site and I’m getting some decent feedback. Thanks again... Adam

The 1A105 can be longer but has a RPM restriction. Anything over 69" will need a little more approval.

                        Re: Wanted, McCauley 7443 propeller

I spent 3900 for my McCauley 74/43 used, had an old yellow tag from 25 years ago, and I sold my Sensenich 74/43 65 prop for 2700 and it had 1500 hours on it and was like new with no major pits or blends....so most of the old ones are drying up. It took me 2 years to find one on Ebay...tim

Give these Alaska prop shop guys a call: http://dominionpropeller.com They may know of good used that would fit. The BS about a 67-69" prop out pulling anything is just that.

Edit: http://www.supercub.org/forum/showth...tinental-O-200 There's more there but the "69" guy runs longer props now. Ask why.
