        Marty,
Where did you get that one done, how much and any other details! When they rebuilt it they fixed the major failure problem by changing the tiny, fragile copper tube for a shielded one that is flexible and can be coiled up. Every bad one I have seen has the copper tube that eventually splits pr cracks releasing the gas. There are probably a lot of the gauges floating around that are broken and the tube is what is usually wrong with them.
The original was like the attached photo and the tube is a TERRIBLE design!

I had mine repaired, 20 years ago, at a place that specialises in vintage car instruments. New Bourden tube+regas.

            Hank,

John Wolfe and Co. Took about 1 1/2 years to do, which is unacceptable. I think he put them on the back-burner to do other work, but that is just a guess. Cannot remember how much, it wasn't cheap. The problem I encountered is he went with the big bulb which caused to me to have to find the larger, correct adapter. There are several adapters and depending upon the bulb and how it seals depends upon the type of adapter that screws into the back of the oil screen. Here is my original post from when I got all my instruments back. http://vb.taylorcraft.org/showthread...ht=instruments
            Cheers,

You have seen how fast I work. One and a half years wouldn't be bad, but remember I am also a Scott. so high cost would be a problem. ;-)
