Swap or buy? If you have any pre-war ribs to trade I would love it. I have lots of post war ribs, but would rather trade than sell. If selling I have no idea what they are worth. Ailerons? Cost more to ship that to buy. Ailerons are plentiful since they almost always survive most any event. I have a stack of ailerons. If I know what parts you need and can get to them without spending a day tearing an aileron apart you can have it for packing and shipping. Labor to tear an aileron apart will drive the price up.

Now if you are close (Lyle, I know you are in WA, so not an option for you I guess) and want to come here to tear them down you can have the parts for your labor taking one apart. I am in SE Virginia.

      Hi Lyle,

I suspect that you will get prices varying all over.

There is a place that makes new ones for about $50. => http://www.de-aircraft.com

Are they approved parts? I do not know.

Univair used to sell them or at least has them in the catalog and were probably $300 each but I do not see them any more.

I suspect that if you got good used ones or even slightly bent used ones for $50 each you would be doing good.

Are you buying or selling? The D&E ribs are not cert. and are for aluminum spars. Prewar and post-war are interchangeable but the Wilson coves are different. Prices range from 25-125 each depending on condition. Tim

The nice thing is with a couple of pairs of pliers with tape on the jaws you can straighten out the majority of the small kinks and bends. The biggest problem is the small cracks around holes. Simple stop drilling should be an easy fix but I have seen several where someone felt a 2" square patch and 5 rivet holes was a good fix for a 1/16" long crack! Some people destroy good parts trying to fix insignificant damage. It DOES NOT HURT the rib if it has a dented or wavy lightening hole flange! If the edges of the rib where the covering goes and where the spar attaches are solid, you don't want to destroy the rib trying to make it look brand new.

Thanks for the insight guys! This helps me put a value on all these parts I've purchased...
