  • Wanted;Piper TriPacer/Pacer Parts

    Howdy folks, I'm looking for a set of right side brakes or at least a copy of the STC. If anyone could help I would be very greatful. Thanks

    What...the Cessna brakes? I have a pal who did the full Pacer STC (which includes, apparently, installation thereof).

      I've done several searches trying to find info and can't. That's what I have is a pa22 converted to a pa20 and I would like to install brakes on the right side for the co-pilot/instructor. I have several folks interested in buying this airplane and I haven't even listed it yet but all of them say the same thing, they want right side brakes added. Any info you can get for me rob would be great.

        I'll post the question to my pal. I'm pretty sure it was a Univair Mod, but I'm not sure.

          Here's what he has to say:

          "The Univair STC is for the PA-22, which originally had drum braked operated by an umbrella handle, like an early Cherokee.

          As just buying the Univair STC gives cross tubes, I suggest he contacts the US breakers, like Dodson, Wentworth etc who advertise in Trade-A-Plane. He almost certainly needs to make up his own system, following the PA-22 STC idea".

              My pal also said:

              "One thought to consider is that the PA-20 uses Piper master cylinders and those have a common oil reservoir on the front face of the firewall. Cessna cylinders each have their own reservoir, so you need to be a contortionist to top the master cylinders up. The shape of a Cessna master cylinder is different from those of a Piper and might restrict rudder travel."
