    Re: Need Tillotson Gascolator ASAP

Only scary part about the Brass/Copper issue is there actually ARE copper ones! Lots of people don't know the difference so I wanted to make sure.
Here is a photo that Forrest sent me of an original fitting some time back when I was doing mine. Stratoflex and other manufacturers make the fittings with both kinds of threads. There are several different configurations and layouts that work.

      Thanks guys.

Hank Interesting pic. Mine is nothing like that. I am tempted to throw on some clothes and go out there to remove my "Distribution block" I was looking on Mc Master, but didn't find anything that looks like mine. Of course you have to have an engineering degree to be able to find anything on that site.

Edit: It is almost just like that. Now I feel silly. I wonder if I can delete this post before anyone sees it.

          Re: Need Tillotson Gascolator ASAP

Holy crap! I don't think I have ever been so happy to be wrong. First of all my "Distribution block" is nothing more than a T. I was thinking it looked more complicated on the
plane. Similar to what Hank has in his picture except my flare fittings are built into the block. 5/16 flare one side and 1/8th flare the other side (I think). Then the 1/8NPT coming out the bottom.

Another thing I was wrong about was the threads being stripped on the 1/8th NPT that threads in to the gascolator. It apeared that way but it was just all the old threads from the gascololator still on there making it appear stripped. Just cleaned it up, and the threads are good. So I think I may be good to go with just the new gascolator.

          Finally some good news!

For the price they should be armored.
