    Yes they do. That backplate looks new and made of phenolic, but not like Air Repair's new backplate. One is engraved the other printed.

      It would be nice to look inside.

      I've overhauled a few, and they are prone to shorting when the copper contacts wear and the grease becomes conductive. Not nice, since of course they earth the magneto.

      Simple to fix, but they do need cleaning periodically and then lubricating with dielectric grease. Eventually the copper (perhaps brass?) contacts wear out completely.

        Just picked an old A7 up on E-Bay. Probably dumb what I paid for it, but I want the look. It's not in great shape but will serve the purpose. Going to put a key in the handle - that way I'll have the look but better reliability in the long run. Sometimes the "Good old days" way wasn't necessarily the best.
