  • New L2M Owner

    Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself as a new L2M owner. I purchased N46453 from a gentleman in the Jackson, Ms area. Still getting my feet wet with the new Taylorcraft. Currently flying Stearmans, Birddogs and now starting to enjoy the L2. Hoping to meet up with other nearby L2 owners.

Welcome aboard the L-2 train. I've had my L-2B for about three years. Really have enjoyed it. Gets lots of attention everywhere I go. Not many around and not often seen. Don't know what engine you have, but you may want to look into Terry Bowde's STC to upgrade. I put a C-85 on mine and it makes a world of differnece. Currently upgrading the C-85 to the O200 STC to get MORE HORSEPOWER. Can't wait to try it out.

          Guys,

Thanks for the welcome. I have already gained some useful information from a couple of members and the forum. Flew the L2 yesterday from the front and back seat (with another pilot) to be comfortable to put someone in the front seat. Surely not a speed demon, but much faster than a cub.

              Hi Billy,
The guys comments are way too kind. Not an expert here, but I enjoy these old airplanes and the challenge of keeping them flying and safe. There are some really creative and knowledgeable folks here on the forum. And there's an awful lot of kindness here too. Pretty much anything you could run in to has been faced before by some of these guys. So stick around and come back for more. We would love to hear more about your airplane and see some photos.

                Re: New L2M Owner

                Thanks Terry,

I took the L2 to a local flyin and it did gather some attention. I did notice that the older gentlemen were showing most of the attention for the aircraft.

On another note, even though I am not a novice pilot, I can sure tell you that the landing gear is very stout. I plan on experimenting with the spoilers a little more.

I will post a picture.....if I can only remember where I put my camera.
