    Very useful, thanks Dr Tim.
I always use a borescope on all the annuals/pre-purchase inspections I do, in conjunction with a compression test (and other engine inspections like checking for induction leaks, primer leaks etc). Each has its value, but the sum is greater than the whole.

I know I'm preaching to the converted with you, Tim, and many others: my message is for the greater Taylorcraft community at large.

Well I haven't been able to fly my airplane since 2008, still waiting on trying to get approvals for some of the mods I did, I begged our DER for years for help but alas no bueno, I am selling my 41, no point in paying to store an awesome airplane I cant fly...next person can deal with him. But I am thinking of applying for an STC to install a O-235 lycoming since I now have a mount to fit. That one will be on a 47 project I bought, then I cant be held hostage.
