BC-12D Instrument Panel Mounting Question

Hi all,

This winter I decided to re-do my interior and my wife bought me for Christmas a new instrument panel by David Wenglarz of Wings Metal Works. I posted pictures of this, and other, items by David. Just search his name.

Anyway, I noted there were only two screws mounting the panel to the part that holds the yoke blocks. Just that and the glare shield, which really doesn't mount to the plane, per se.

I noted four unused holes up toward the top around the center instrument cutout on the original panel. However, there is no place to mount the panel to the plane at this location.

Can someone please advise if there are other mounting points for the instrument panel? Thanks!

My 41 and 45 both were held by just 2 screws into the control shaft channel. You can see the screw in these pictures. Don't discount the glare shield screws. They actually stabilize the panel quite a lot. I did put Tinman nuts on the edge of the panel for the screws instead of threading them into the sheet metal. There are also screws in the edges of the glove box openings that attach the boxes to the panel and the boxes are attached to the tubes to keep the boxes from catching on the aileron control gears when you pull the controls back. All together it makes the panel very secure.

that is it, just the ones at the yokes for postwar airplanes.
