    Re: Runway Incursion N95598

Hmmmm I see there is a page 2 to this thread and a list of Equipment was already posted. I will take my foggy brain home at 4PM on A saturday.
    Good post Garry.
For Terry ; that is a darn shame . I can now confess about my encounter with my OWN Runway marker , my right ski sure got bent up..... same blind spot.
Probably same choice words. Look the drag & anti-drag system over real well and the rear spar attach area.

When I saw your first pictures, two thoughts jumped through my head.
First: I wonder if it torqued the wing back and so how are the spar roots and fittings at the base of that long lever arm?
Second: I know lots of folks who will just repair the obvious bent parts and go fly. I wonder how far Terry will look?

Congratulations on looking at everything and doing it right! And then a big THANK YOU for posting the pictures and the story. Now maybe one of those "other folks" may say "Oh Yeah, If Terry could dig deeper maybe I should too..." and you may just have saved another airplane and pilot.

      Terry, You are my hero!

(By the way, my fuselage looks just as lonely as yours with the wings off. Bet you have yours together before mine though. I have this full-time job that gets in the way of working on the airplane...)

The problem is if there are 500 GREAT ones, ONE idiot will give them all a bad reputation. We need to work with the 500. Most of them know very little about "Tube and Rag" planes and are eager to look at them and learn, they just don't want to be a pain and KNOW they may not know what they are looking at. I look at it from the perspective of, "if there is something wrong with my plane, I WANT to know about it!" As soon as they see something, I no longer have an "intent to fly", so unless they were real jerks, I shouldn't get written up.

I seem to be an a##hole magnet with those guys, even though I try very hard to be polite and professional. Oh well, they need to change their name to the Federal Aviation Enforcement Administration, I think.

You can push their buttons by getting them to put it in writing "Why its not in compliance by regulation number" they try to use all of these handbooks and guides as regulatory but if its not a regulation they try to bluff or change what/how the regulation must be complied with.

            Re: Runway Incursion N95598

I just got in the CD from the FAA with all records for NC44100 and have identified everything on the equipment list and the TCDS, except for item 318(c). I can't seem to locate it anywhere on the TC. It does say that it has the left hand wing tank, which is item 105 on the TCDS and 105 is not listed in my equipment list. Is this what 318(c) is? I didn't find it in any of the changes under the special note on the TCDS. Does anyone have a copy of the orginal TCDS for my plane, A-696-3?

Thanks! and I'm having a blast reading through all the older posts.

We had this discussion a few years back. Didn't really come to a definitive conclusion. Here's the thread.

I looked at the 12/7/1960 version of the A696 aircraft specification sheet and it does not have an item 318.

318 is not required equipment and its not nav lights as they are 319
