  • CRC Corrosion Shield

I just got my struts back from x-ray and am ready to apply corrosion inhibitor. I could use linseed oil but see old posts about it seeping out and making a mess for a long time. I'm thinking of using CRC Corrosion Shield or Aerokroil - probably in spray form. Any guidance/opinions?

    Thanks, Ron

That would be my next question. The CRC #3 is of the waxy type which isn't as easy to remove if you wanted to flush it out. #2 is more of an oil and is more easily removed with solvent. Is a waxy buildup ever a problem in any way?

      Thanks, Ron

I like a product called Corrosion X. It's a little pricey, but does a goood job. It is also a great pentrater for breaking things loose.
