  • rudder lube and tubing oil

    Hello Folks,
My project is a 1940 BC-65. I saw the recent post concerning control stick lube. My rudder pedal assembly had no brass bearing straps installed when I removed them for restoration. My Parts Price List doesn't list any bearings for the rudder assembly. Should there be brass bearings in the rudder pedal assembly? If not, does anyone know why bearings are used in the control column assembly but not in the rudders?
Should I use tube seal oil to coat the insides of the fuselage tubes?
    Thanks,
    John

You need the "bearings" (actually I think they are half bushings) so you don't have steel on steel. They are easy to make from hobby shop brass or shim stock. Do NOT forget to drill the hole under the cap lube hole through the brass on top!

I have a whole roll of .005" brash shim stock, maybe I could form up some new brass shims. Tim

Polyfiber's tube seal is the very best stuff!!
