Re: Cabin Heater Box
Does anyone have any pictures or drawings for a Cabin Heater? Would like to see one with a view to adding!

Re: Cabin Heater Box
Many thanks for posting the pictures Hank. So is the heater box simply the part painted black in your final photo? how does it work? Is it a mechanical warm air system of some sort?

Re: Cabin Heater Box
There is a hose that goes in the top. It brings in heated air from around the exhaust system. The valve in the box either lets the air out underneath the airplane or directs it through the firewall into the cabin for heat.

Hank, cheeky I know, would it be possible to provide more pictures from other angles, and dimensions ? Understood if this is difficult to arrange.
M TOWSLEY - apologies, I appear to have hijacked your post. Sorry

Are the inlet and outlet pipes about 1 3/4" ?

Re: Cabin Heater Box
I am pretty sure I have a beat up one at the airport. When a plane goes up on it's nose and the engine mount gets wiped out they get pretty crushed up. Same if the gear collapses.
The material is a thin steel or what we used to call "Tin Plate" and the ones I have seem to be soldered or brazed together. Anyone who took high school metal shop could make one. (OK, anyone who PASSED high school metal shop could make one!)
