  • Fabric retaining wire

I read the old thread about the fabric retaining wire (Martin clips, etc.). Where did we end up with that? Is there NOS, or was someone able to fabricate some? I had to cut mine in an effort to remove without damaging the holes in the rib. Having said that, I do have a bunch of good, dimensionally solid pieces if someone wants to fabricate and sell some.

The Martin Clips are NOT the same as Taylorcraft clips. The distance between the clips are different. I was planning to make a bending fixture for when I restore the 45 but it hasn't been a priority since I am working on the 41 to get her flying. How much interest is there in a bending fixture? What I was going to make was a simple hand bend tool you could sit in front of the TV and make them. It is not that hard, and kind of mindless. Perfect for the TV.

Aircraft Spruce lists both Martin clips & Taylorcraft clips.
I have not used them since mine came with a couple rolls of proper length clips but someone must have tried them?
I also wondered if the Cessna C channel clips have the correct spacing to work?

I think the Cessna clips work across the rib cap strip?
