I need the help of a Taylorcrat owner who owns a set of original stamped ribs not installed. I want to get clear pics of each of the types de ribs ( 22 types of ribs, a pic of each side, 44 pics).
I can pass by email detailed outline of the ribs and wing.
I am very grateful fo any help in this regard.-
Many thanks, have alls a nice week.-
    Miguel.-

    Re: Ribs pics

I have a full set of ribs in the barn for the 45 wings and was planning to photograph each one with a part number as I assembled the wings, but I don't know if it would help you since my wings were one of the first post war stamped ribs and were NOT exactly the same as the production ribs.
We are also hoping to do a complete restoration on a set of wings here but don't know what year they are. They are on a pre war plane but are stamped ribs that look like factory stock.
What is it that you are trying to accomplish since it will be quite a while before this bit of the project will be done.

      Re: Ribs pics

      Hank:
I need rebuild wings of my plane, because the build up ribs are badly damaged, and I prefer the stamped ribs.-
I will buy two complete stamped ribs (one left bend, one right) to make molds, because I have not any stamped ribs here.
I want pictures to have graphical information about the differences between them, however perfil be same in all ribs (less the last one P/N 08971 R or L) taht I believe is different.-
I will email you a list of the ribs Part Numbers that I need pics.-
      Many, many thanks.-
      Miguel.-

        Miguel,
I'm curious about the state of General Aviation in Uruguay and how you came to be the owner of a TCraft in Durazno. Tell us your story, if you get a chance.

Miguel, I think you should start your own thread on the site and share with everyone. Tom

                  Re: Ribs pics

Miguel sent me (by regular email) a fascinating blurb (in Spanish) on the history of general aviation in Uruguay and a bit about his Tcraft. He included some excellent pictures. Great stuff.
He has given me his permission to translate it into English and post it here. I'm looking forward to doing so. I'll probably start a new thread as 3Dreaming suggested.
