  • Motor mount torque

    Got new rubbers for the motor mount. Who can tell me the proper torque??

      Should be 60 to 80 inch pounds for the conical bushings. Check with Lord for the O-200 mounts.

        Sorry,
        cont a65-8 conical rubber mounts. Found 60-90 in/lbs in service manual. Seemed low. Thought I would inquire.

          Since there is not a center bushing like other motor mounts use, you can't tighten it down as much. If you did torque it down like your typical bolt that size it would pull through the rubber.

            All you want the rubber to do is have no free space. The engine should move on the rubber mount to provide the dampening for the engine. Too tight reduces the dampening.
