F22 / F22A Airframe differences?

Anyone know the major differences between the Airframe spares for the Tri gear F22A and the Tail dragger F22 - obviously the landing gear is totally different together with the nose wheel set up on the F22A but what else?

Have been offered a F22 airframe for spares for my F22A.

Same except for the gear attach points and the first few had both . I have a picture somewhere of the prototype with one convential gear on one side and the other side had a tri gear.... we left the nose gear in palce of course. the difference there was the mount of course.

Thanks - Do you happen to know the identity of the two Pilots who flew the F22A and the F22 to the UK? It would be interesting to hear their story as I bet the flight was interesting to say the least!

It is the F22 airframe I have been offered for spares following a landing mishap in the UK.

I don't know who they were. Perhaps the logs show something, Robert?

No sadly the logs show nothing to assist! What actually happened with the F22? Did Richard keep the engine and Avionics?

Richard has none of the parts...I can only assume the insurers have sold those separately.

Thanks for the info, I am Glad Richard was ok. The joys of farm strip flying in the UK!

I have done a deal to purchase the F22 Fuselage and have it stripped so hopefully I should have a fair few spares now which will include the fuel Tanks which hopefully will be ok! I felt on a personal level that it was too good an opportunity to miss as there are just no airframe spares around for my F22A.

It will probably also mean that nothing will go wrong to need them!

I still have an F-22 fuselage here in Alliance, Oh , kind of hard to get over to the UK unless you have a friend in the Military. I am surprised it never sold over here . [email protected] www.barberaircraft.com listed below too!

Well job done after a very very long three handed day plus another to Transport the gear to my garage just about everything stripped from the F22 Fuselage so an abundance of spares which makes for a very good xmas present for myself!

May be in a position to sell certain items in the future when I have taken stock of things if anybody is desperate for anything?

Not sure about the landing gear yet. I presume you want it for a F22? Best PM me in a couple of weeks when I have had a chance to take stock of things. I am based in Wales UK.

Robert, did you have any problems with the wheel pant brackets on your F22A Taylorcraft ,I noticed in some of the pictures you had the wheel pants removed,mine are removed for repair, I found
hair line cracking ,on mine,just curious if you had the same problem,im in the process of welding then present before they go back on the Aircraft ,have a great day Sir.

I have the gear fittings, to fit the tail wheel aircraft gear, to my 1992 F22A ,Taylorcraft do you have these fittings on you F22ATaylorcraft,just curious
