  • Sparkplug threads

I have a cylinder on a A65 that has the threads pulled out of a sparkplug hole. It has the sparkplug bushings. Is there enough material in the bushing to install a heli-coil, or do I need to install a new bushing? What thoughts does anyone have on the subject? Thanks, Tom

    Tom.
I would replace the bushing. The bushing is kept from turning by a small pin installed through the flange into the cylinder. You will have to pull or drill the pin throuugh the flange to remove the bushing. You will have to drill and pin the new bushing.
Fresno Air Parts is one place you can buy them. See second page of Trade A Plane.

Thanks Karl, I have some new bushings and pins here. I was just looking for the easy way out. Sometimes those bushings can be a pain to remove. Tom

They also make oversized bushings as well if needed.
