  • Clip Wing Weld in Component Kit

Tribe- I mentioned before that I was trying to find someone to weld up installation kits for the stick assembly, bellcranks, pushrods, etc. Well- to date I have not had anyone that would commit and that I felt comfortable with so I am going to provide them myself. I will provide a complete, welded up installation kit. It will be for EXPERIMENTAL only. I can also make new main fuel tanks. They come with a flop tube and hold about 11 gallons. If you are interested let me know. Here is what is included in the clipwing kit:
Stick Assembly, all pushrods, bellcranks, brackets, fittings, bearings, and tail mods.

I just spent way too much money on an airplane so I guess I better figure out how to pay for it ;-)

It is not here yet- She is OK with it. I think deep down she is thankful that I will be easier to get along with not that I have a stress eliminator!

Next time you are in OKC, you need to go see Zivko. I am sure they would build the assemblies for you. They had started a Clipwing before we bought it years ago.

PS. Is that t-craft local or would it help ya out any to have it delivered?

Mike- I went over to Zivko a few times and was really impressed. I sure wish they would tackle a composite wing for the clip T. They could probably make it really easilly but it would be very expensive.

The stick assy. I built for myself has a slightly changed geometry to allow more aileron deflection with less stick movement. When I had my Swick I could not get full aileron deflection with 2 people on board. The ailerons are light enough that the little mechanical advantage you loose will not be noticeable.

As for the cost- I am not sure yet- I was thinking about doing material plus labor so I do not cut myself short. My labor rate is $40 per hour.

The rights to the Swick T have been purchased and the new company is providing parts for the conversion.

He is in the proccess of setting up website and didn't really want to get the word out yet so he didn't get swamped right off the bat.

I have owned a couple Clipped wing Cubs and have one near flying in my shop but after seeing what he is doing with the Swick T I'm planning on building one!

Welded parts, fiberglass cowlings, wing tips ect, available in carbon fiber, and soon he will be selling welded new fuselages. I just got a set of Swick plans from him.

080892 . NO flames intended here at all. We are all very war weary when it comes to people telling us "what is going to happen" with respect to ANYTHING manufactured for Taylorcraft. First it was Harry, then we heard about what Wag Aero was going to "hopefully" be doing with the purchase of afe Air (what happened to THAT one...I'll defer to the report back to which we have all been waiting for AHMMM)

Soo please let us all know when "he" is ready to show tell and sell. Believe us when we say "we will believe it when we see it!!!"

Please ID yourself it would help the story. Thanks and agsain no flames to you or "this guy"

                            Best
