Hello everyone,
First, thank you for all of the responses and offers to help. I'm so happy to have found this website.
The t-craft in question N27584 serial # 2225 is located at Van Zandt County regional airport in Wills Point, Texas and the seller's name is Clint Barnes. If anyone is in that area and could take a look I would greatly appreciate it. Any advice, opinions or thoughts would be most welcome.
Thanks again.

Eddie,
I live about 25 miles north of Dallas and Wills Point is southeast of Dallas off I20. So I'm looking at a road trip of about only an hour.
I'm not as knowledgeable as Hank or Marty when it comes to T-Craft things, but I can operate one of those fancy digital cameras.
Wouldn't mind taking a trip down there for ya and talk to Mr. Clint about his plane for sale. Take a few pictures and email back to ya.
Hi Bob,
Thanks for your post and offer to drive to Wills Point. Is it OK to send you a PM with my phone number? It'd be easier to talk than trade posts.
Thanks
This is a message for Howard Wilson.

Eddie,
Sure, no problem! Just send me a PM and I'll see how I can help.
Hello everyone,
Thanks to Bob who drove to Wills Point to look at the T-craft for sale. It's a project and more than I can handle so I'm passing on that one. If anyone knows of a good one for sale please let me know. I've seen a few on Barnstormers but usually they are on the west coast; I'm hoping to find something a little closer to me here in Maryland. I grew up with a 1940 and would prefer an earlier one rather than the postwar 12D. I'll be teaching my children to fly in it and prefer the bare bones, no electrical and basic engine instruments, as original as possible but in good shape. If anyone has any leads please let me know. Thanks again for all of the replies.

Hi Eddie C. If you wait a year,I will have a nice 1939 BL--(cont A-65)--for sale.It is currently ready for cover and I only work on it as time permits.Wasnt figuring on doing much this summer on it.It has the factory (Edo corp) float fittings on it that was put on when the airplane was new.I put all new wing and aileron spars in it,large tack, dual brakes, low time since major, round control wheels.basicly stock, and fiberglass like original wheel pants. It is uncovered at present.I would possably sell it as is,but would rather finish it complete. This is around number 33 or so on the list of airplanes I have either built or rebuilt in the last fourty years.A friend of mine has a 1941 red and black T-craft in trade -a-plane,and I think he would come down on the advertised price. Its been flying around two years since rebuild, with a Cont A65,metal prop, large tack, wheel pants. His number is 419-310-0122.
Thanks Mike, My two boys are 15 & 14 and really want to get started. I have a Quad City Challenger II that we've been flying but it's tandem and not the best plane for a beginner. My dad built it as light as possible because he wanted to soar (it actually will thermal on a good day) but the downside is that on all but the calmest days it's rather squirrelly. It has no doors so is cold in the winter and the wind noise doesn't help matters. Your project sounds interesting and i'll keep it in mind. I'll call your friend today, i looked up his ad on trade a plane as well.
Thanks you.
Eddie
Your welcome Eddie.I don't know much about it,other than he got it in pieces from Dick Huish here on the forum.Dick lives in Forest Barbers area.It does have new Wag Aero struts, and he flys it over here to my strip often. It seems to be a reliable airplane.Glad I could help.

I went back into the cd from the FAA and found that mine had been completely rebuilt in 1946 using a fuselage #1702. It was supposedly parted out in 2000, it was accepted for commercial service in 46 and it now has a serial number of 1220. Go figure.
While I was going through the Faa cd I noticed the repairs on 1 part of the fuselage near the handle on the ass end and they do match, so while mine was repaired with another frame the repairs do match according to records-kinda like a xray of a broken arm
